When to use RENDERCAD with Creo Layout

Creo Layout is useful when a product team needs to explore a mechanical concept in 2D before committing to detailed 3D geometry. A layout can combine new geometry with imported 2D data, traced reference imagery, or sections from a Creo model, then organize the concept with sublayouts, labels, dimensions, notes, and symbols. That makes it well suited to early views of an enclosure, product profile, packaging envelope, arrangement of components, or a mechanism relationship.

For RENDERCAD, choose a clean, intentionally framed layout that communicates one approved concept rather than a dense working sheet. In Creo Layout, prepare a single concept view that shows the intended product story: for example, an outer profile with a packaging envelope, a labeled component arrangement, or an imported Creo cross-section used to guide a new design. Use layers, sublayouts, or visibility controls to reduce construction geometry and working annotations, while retaining enough silhouette and relationship information for the image to be understood. Capture a high-contrast viewport after confirming that the view represents the current approved direction.

Upload the capture to RENDERCAD and describe the desired product category, material cues, lighting, background, and presentation audience. Request a visual that keeps the visible outline and component relationships legible, then review it beside the original layout before sharing it. Return to Creo Layout or the downstream Creo model for any design change; a generated visual cannot establish dimensions, constraints, 3D features, or associative updates.

Upload a clear image, choose the Realistic engine, and describe a large soft light source or overcast lighting. Generated shadows are visual approximations, not a physical lighting calculation.
