The CAD Rendering Pipeline Is Broken

Scene-based CAD rendering can involve file conversion, material assignment, lighting, cameras, and repeated scene renders. Screenshot-based AI rendering offers a different path for rapid visual exploration when direct scene control is not required.

RENDERCAD works from viewport screenshots in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, Fusion 360, and other documented CAD workflows. No source-model upload or plugin is required.

Use screenshot-based AI rendering for concept reviews, client updates, and internal iterations. Keep traditional tools in the workflow when final deliverables need precise scene, lighting, geometry, or frame-by-frame control.

Screenshot.
Render.
Done.

Capture a clear CAD viewport. Image renders complete in 60 seconds, supporting exterior, interior, product, and mechanical visualization workflows, with no local scene setup or local render queue required.

2,600+ Materials. 1300+ Backgrounds. No HDRI Hunting.

Brushed aluminum. Walnut veneer. Polished concrete. Frosted glass. Choose a material, background scene, and atmospheric condition such as golden hour, overcast, studio lighting, or snow without rebuilding a separate local render scene. Image renders complete in 60 seconds.

Native CAD Models Are Not Uploaded.

RENDERCAD processes the 2D screenshot you choose to upload, not your SLDASM, RVT, or 3DM source file. The screenshot does not contain the editable native model, assembly tree, parametric history, or original project data. Review the current privacy and retention terms before uploading confidential images.

Render Without Leaving Your CAD Tool

Use RENDERCAD in the browser, capture a viewport with the desktop app, or start from the browser extension. These tools send the selected screenshot into the same image-based workflow; they do not require a plugin in the source CAD application.

Questions & Answers

What CAD professionals ask about AI rendering

AI CAD rendering uses machine learning to turn CAD screenshots or design images into photorealistic visualizations. A screenshot-based workflow can skip a separate local scene build for lights, materials, and camera setup. Image renders complete in 60 seconds.

No native CAD-file upload is required. Capture a clear viewport from a documented CAD workflow and upload the selected 2D screenshot. The native model, assembly tree, and parametric project data are not part of that image upload.

RENDERCAD works from a clear 2D viewport screenshot, so it can fit workflows in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, Fusion, CATIA, ArchiCAD, Vectorworks, Inventor, Creo, NX, FreeCAD, and many other design tools. Results depend on the clarity of the source image and the selected model.

Image renders complete in 60 seconds. Traditional tools such as V-Ray or KeyShot provide more direct control over geometry, lighting, cameras, and materials, while screenshot-based AI rendering emphasizes iteration speed.

Your screenshot is uploaded and processed to generate the render, then retained according to your plan and current product settings unless you delete it sooner. RENDERCAD does not use your input images or rendered outputs to train AI models. The native CAD model and parametric project data are not part of the screenshot upload.

Paid plans start at $9/month for Lite with 50 credits. Each render costs 1-2 credits depending on the engine, and plans scale to 2,000 monthly credits on Business.

Traditional renderers remain useful when a deliverable needs precise control over geometry, lights, cameras, and material properties. Screenshot-based AI rendering is useful for concept presentations, client approvals, design reviews, marketing options, and rapid iteration. Teams can use either workflow or combine them according to the deliverable.

Standard image output is HD resolution in PNG format. 4K resolution is available for an additional 2 credits per render. Videos export as MP4. Videos complete in 2-5 minutes.

Yes. Choose from more than 2,600 materials, 1,300 backgrounds, and 40 environmental conditions, or upload an authorized reference image to communicate a specific visual direction. Generated interpretation can vary.
