Poser FireFly is useful when the source is already a Poser scene and the artist wants to tune procedural shaders, shadows, displacement, toon outlines, render layers, and camera-based output inside Poser. RENDERCAD is a better fit when the starting point is a CAD viewport, product screenshot, architectural view, or design image that needs a polished still render without rebuilding the scene in Poser. FireFly favors native Poser compatibility and manual render settings; RENDERCAD favors fast browser-based iteration from existing visual inputs.
FireFly works from a complete Poser scene: figures, props, materials, lights, cameras, render presets, and FireFly options all influence the final still image or animation frame. That control is valuable for legacy Poser projects, stylized character art, shadow-only passes, toon-outline work, layered output, and scenes that depend on FireFly-era materials. The tradeoff is setup effort: useful results usually require the model, scene hierarchy, shader choices, render preferences, and local render resources to be managed inside Poser.
